Gaze

Gazing into containers of Stuff is a well known means for mystic ladies all over the universe to spy on people. The practice of dripping some ink into a bowl of water, and then gazing into that, has proved to be one of the easiest to use of these methods, although with insufficient training the results are dubious.

Syntax is "gaze into (vessel) [while] concentrating on (person)"

To gaze properly you'll need a fresh water and ink mixture. Water can be obtained from almost any water source and ink is made available at a variety of stationers shops throughout the Disc. Together you'll have to make an "inky water" (with no extra bits) to gaze. You need at least 8 ounces of this substance. Remember, syntax fill and syntax pour are your friends. If your concoction has too much of one liquid you can use Mama Blackwing's Potent Preserver to remedy this, however, be careful. It's very drying for the frog and you may lose it. This mixture must be "fresh" and will only last so long before spoiling.

You need a larger scrying bonus to gaze well. Otherwise you'll fail and recieve no indication of where your target is at or, what is more likely, a massive jumble of mispelled words.

This command can be learned from Nanny Ogg (outside of Granny's cottage) or Mama Diksha (Bes Pelargic).

Advancing the skill abjuring as well as wearing a jet black crystal will increase your chances of not being gazed.
