Unique NPC Witches
Mistress Esmerelda 'Granny' Weatherwax
Granny Weatherwax isn't old (because old doesn't happen to witches) but she's definitely well preserved. Too well, in her opinion, as she's arrived at the peak of her career with a rosy complexion and all of her teeth, despite innumerable wart charms and vast quantities of sugar. She is easily identifiead as a witch by the regulation pointy black hat which she has skewered into place with several bat wing hat pins. She look's the sort who'll do what's right with grim determination whether or not anyone likes it.

Old Auntie Gertie aka Ogg-San
Old Auntie is a bit of a local Oddity, with her black pointy hat, warts and 3 remaining teeth. She is originally from a long way off, from the mountains far outside The Wall and across the sea. She went out one day (when she was just Young Gertie) to go gather some sticks and just kept on going. Eventually she wound up here, met a young local man, decided she had enough sticks to last her a lifetime, settled down and has, as she puts it 'Gorn Native'. She is unfailingly cheerful, overseeing her huge extended family with a rod of iron and always ready to help out with potions and bits of herb lore she learnt on her travels. There are rumours that she is a witch, but of course Officially, there's no such thing as magic, so she can't be, can she?

In the realm of Fairy Godmothers, this one must certainly take honours in a Division Yet To Be Announced. Grimly determined to do things properly, Magrat Garlick has woven wild flowers in her windswept, golden locks, powdered her face to a fashionable pallor and has attired herself in numerous fluttering shawls, bangles, and a vivid green gown. The overall effect is that of a maypole with a flower box emptied over its head that happens to jingle like a tinker's wagon with a broken wheel. With one hand she clutches her regulation wand and with the other she dabs at her red and dripping nose with a damp scrap of lace.
